DAVID Simcock has confirmed that his stable star Dream Ahead will not be heading for the Irish 2000 Guineas next Saturday.
The Trillium Place trainer and owner Khalifa Dasmal have instead identified the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot as a next possible target for the Diktat colt.
Tuesday, June 14's Group 1 at the Royal meeting would mean a rematch with the all-conquering Frankel, who was last seen destroying his field in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
Simcock said: "Dream Ahead won't be running in Ireland - the forecast is not in his favour.
"It has been a difficult spring for us as we feel we haven't been able to do the work on grass with the horse that we would liked to have done.
"We've always genuinely felt that he is a horse who needs cut in the ground. With it having been so dry for so long, it has been frustrating.
"At the same time, I am delighted with his mindset and how he is, physically.
"Our next option is the St James's Palace Stakes, allowing for good ground or easier.
"We're very much looking forward to that. The challenge of running against Frankel excites me. It is nice to have a horse who we believe is capable of taking him on.
"Having said that, I'm glad we didn't take him on in the 2000 Guineas!"
The last time Frankel and Dream Ahead met was in the Dewhurst Stakes. On that occasion, Dream Ahead failed to find top form as Frankel took the honours.
In last year's international classifications, the pair were asessed as the leading two-year-olds of their generation.

LITTLE ROCKY made sure that the long drive to Hamilton was a worthwhile one when losing his maiden tag in a 1m1f maiden on Friday evening.
The son of Cadeaux Genereux was second on both his starts at two and had little trouble getting the job done.
Jockey Martin Lane settled the 8/15 favourite at the rear of the field and he travelled strongly. He moved up in eye-catching fashion on the outside and went on the score by three and a half lengths.
Little Rocky is owned and bred by Colin Murfitt and is out of a three-time winning Green Desert mare in Tahirah.

TRAINER David Simcock has declared Marhaba Malyoon for the Group 3 Lingfield Derby Trial on Saturday.
The son of Tiger Hill has only had one run to date where he put up an impressive display to win a Bath maiden.
It is a big step up in grade but he has been pleasing his trainer over the winter and in his work this spring.
Simcock said: “Marhaba is a horse that will stay well. We were very pleased with him last year and have been very pleased with him this season.
“The trip should be no problem at all for him and he may even stay further in time.”
A field of seven go to post and William Buick will be aboard Marhaba Malyoon.
Al Mayasah goes for the Trilluim Place team in the Oaks Trial earlier in the afternoon. She will be ridden by Tom Queally.
