THE DUBAI International Racing Carnival gets underway this Thursday and trainer David Simcock will have at least two runners. In the seven-furlong handicap, Simcock expects to be represented by Seachantach and maybe Noble Citizen. Seachantach will be having his first run for the Trillium Place team after previously racing for a leading Irish trainer. The four-year-old Elusive Quality gelding is a three-time winner up to a mile. Noble Citizen is not guaranteed to make the cut for the race off his current mark. Jaroslaw has a couple of entries but the likely starting-point for his Dubai campaign appears to be the 9.5f handicap. The seven-year-old won on his last start over 1m at Lingfied but Simcock feels a step up in trip may see him in a favourable light. He said: “Jaroslaw has never been this far but is a horse that gives the impression that he needs the trip. It is a bit of an experiment but I am looking forward to running him over this distance.” On his five-strong Dubai team, Simcock summed up: “I am just hoping that a couple of these guys can bring something home for us.” |
