TRAINER David Simcock’s hot start to 2010 continued as Vainglory ran out a convincing winner at Kempton this evening. The six-year-old chestnut has been a solid servant to Trillium Place Stables and he made it four career wins with this latest success. Backed in from 9/2 to 3/1, Vainglory didn’t give his backers too much to worry about . Jockey Martin Dwyer had him in touch before allowing his mount to kick on approaching the final furlong. Through the final strides Vainglory was always in control and had two lengths to spare at the line. Earlier in the day Jaroslaw gave a promising performance in his first crack at an extended nine furlongs. He finished third in Meydan’s curtain-raising fixture. Closer to home, Mayta Capac came second in a 1m 6f apprentice handicap at Southwell. |
