Super Wolverhampton double for Simcock team

EXCEED Power and Ilie Nastase were both on the score sheet at Wolverhampton yesterday evening continuing the terrific form of the David Simcock yard.

Exceed Power gained the first win of her career when taking a 5f handicap in game fashion.

She was a good second at Kempton two days ago and was a strong 2/1 favourite to go one better today.

Jockey Hayley Turner settled Exceed Power at the rear of the field where she was always travelling strongly.

When they turned for home Turner switched wide to avoid trouble in running and her mount picked up well, coming home a length clear.

The daughter of Exceed And Excel has been a consistent performer and thoroughly deserved to get her head in front.

Ilie Nastase has also been a consistent performer and needed all of jockey Paul Hanagan’s strength to get up in the dying strides of the 9f Claimer.

The son of Royal Applause, sent off at odds of 7/4, showed a good attitude to reverse the form with his conqueror from last time out, Plush.
