MABAIT gained his second victory inside eight days when taking a mile handicap at Newmarket this afternoon.
The son of Kyllachy hadn't won for over three years before last week's victory, which came over the same course and distance as today's.
It was almost a carbon copy of last week's race with Mabait settled at the rear of the field by Shelley Birkett.
He travelled strongly before getting up on the line to beat Validus by half a length.
Mabait's win provided the Trillium Place team with a double on the day following on from Erroneous, who opened his account in a seven-furlong maiden at Redcar.
The son of Footstepsinthesand showed a likeable attitude to hold off Alisios by a neck.
