Listed win for Breton Rock

BRETON Rock secured a deserved first Listed win when taking the Spring Cup at Haydock this afternoon.
The son of Bahamian Bounty is a model of consistency and won in taking style under Fergus Sweeney.
He was settled last of the four runners in the early stages but was always travelling well.
Sweeney made his move towards the far side but at the furlong pole any four of the horses were in with a chance.
It was Breton Rock who wanted it most however, and he forged clear gamely in the closing stages to win by half a length.
Breton Rock has now won six times, including a valuable triumph in the Champions Apprentice race at Ascot last October.
