Erroneous so tough in Yarmouth win

24 August 2014

ERRONEOUS returned to winning ways with the gamest of performances in a mile and a half handicap at Yarmouth this afternoon.

The Footstepsinthesand gelding made all for jockey Shane Kelly, winning by a head in a thrilling finish.

Trainer David Simcock's charge was sent off as the 11/4 joint favourite as he sought to get his head in front for the first time since last October.

Kelly dictated the pace but was forced to get serious as the challengers lined up from over a furlong out.

The most serious thrust came from Blighty who rattled home on the inner rail but Erroneous responded gamely to Kelly's drive and held on by a short head.
