Barye impresses at Chelmsford

06 February 2014

BARYE gave trainer David Simcock his second winner in successive days when powering home in impressive fashion at Chelmsford City.

The four-year-old Archipenko gelding could barely have been more impressive in the manner in which he stormed to success in a mile and a quarter handicap under jockey Martin Lane.
Barye went one better than his previous outing just over a fortnight earlier at Wolverhampton. Sent off the 2/1 favourite, Lane held up the Trillium Place horse for much of the contest.
However, he was the one with the best change of gear, motoring from out the back to lead with a furlong to go.
Barye really caught the eye in the manner in which he went about his win, lowering and lengthening to score going away by three lengths.
The victory came a day after India's Song had found the winner's circle at the same venue.
