Wow what a week – nine winners and counting

19 August 2012

IT has been some week for the Simcock team with nine horses hitting the target. Last Friday, Sammy Alexander got the ball rolling when taking a 1m2f handicap at Newmarket under William Buick and twenty-four hours later Castilo del Diablo broke his maiden over 1m4f also at Newmarket. On Sunday, Brazen fulfilled his debut promise with an easy six length win in a Folkestone maiden under Jim Crowley. Monday came and there was a double for Trillium Place with Attraction Ticket winning under a penalty at Lingfield and Stand of Glory shedding his maiden tag with minimal fuss over 5f at Thirsk. Any Given Dream was Tuesday’s winner, taking a 1m4f maiden at Wolverhampton. On Wednesday, Glass Office landed short odds to take a 6f Nursery under William Buick. The son of Vergals has now won twice on an artificial surfaces and looks to have a bright future. Another decent prospect is Fearless Jacq, who opened her account on debut over 6f at Newmarket on Thursday. She travelled supremely well throughout and burst through runners to win by a length and three quarters. White Nile was given a terrific ride by Graham Lee to get up in the dying strides of the 1m2f maiden at Newcastle on Friday. Jenny Simcock said: “Overall, the horses are healthy and well and I think that the better ground makes things a little bit more predictable.”
