Back-to-back wins for Viserion

17 June 2016

JOCKEY George Buckell continued a successful alliance with Viserion when booting home the four-year-old gelding for the second time in a week this afternoon.

The apprentice rider was aboard for a victory at York over a mile and a half last Friday. And the double-act were at it again at Redcar today, this time combining for success in a 10-furlong handicap.

Buckell, claiming 5lb, delivered an inch-perfect challenge on the 9/4 favourite.

Having been held up for a run, Viserion was unleashed inside the final quarter of a mile and got up late on to score by a neck.

It was the fifth winner of the week for trainer David Simcock, who was also on target with Island Vision in a seven-furlong novices' race at Chelmsford on Wednesday night.

The daughter of Arcano was the third juvenile filly from Trillium Place to score inside three days.
