Majeed makes winning return

14 July 2016

MAJEED enjoying a victorious start to his 2016 UK campaign with a convincing success at Yarmouth.

Khalifa Dasmal's six-year-old had three outings at the Dubai World Cup Carnival but hadn't been out since February.
There were no signs of ring rustiness, however, at the Norfolk course as Majeed did everything right for jockey Andrea Atzeni in the mile and a quarter handicap.
The 8/1 shot was held up at the back of the seven-runner field before coming with a sustained challenge from just over a quarter if a mile from home.
Majeed led as they reached the final furlong and stayed on well to score by a length and a half.
It was his sixth victory from 16 starts and gave trainer David Simcock yet another winner. On Saturday, Singyoursong bagged a mile handicap at Ascot.
It was the progressive filly's third win in her last four outings.
