US return on cards for Dreamer

24 August 2012

TRAINER David Simcock is planning to take I'm A Dreamer back to North America at the end of the month to see if she can reprise her heroics in the Grade 1 Beverly D last weekend. The five-year-old mare, who won at Arlington Park under Hayley Turner, could be in line for either the Flower Bowl at Belmont Park or the Rodeo Drive (formerly the Yellow Ribbon) at Santa Anita. Both races are Grade 1s staged over a mile and a quarter, scheduled for September 29. Simcock was delighted with last Saturday's success - his first Grade win in America - and he rightly reserved special praise for I'm A Dreamer. He said: "I am delighted most of all for the mare, as she has been ultra consistent throughout her career and on occasion could have been a touch unlucky in her races" "The race unfolded well for her, she showed a good turn of foot to get to the front and great tenacity to hold off the late challenger" "The whole experience of Arlington was fantastic and you would not find a more beautiful racecourse in America" "All her options are open for the remainder of the season but races such as the Flower Bowl and Yellow Ribbon (now the Rodeo Drive) will come into the equation."
