Ascot Day triumphs again

18 January 2017

ASCOT Day followed up his recent maiden success by winning a Class 2 five-furlong handicap at Lingfield Park this afternoon.

From the break, jockey Jamie Spencer settled the Ahmed Jaber-owned colt on the rail, in fourth place of the five runners.

Coming out of the bend into the home straight the pair took advantage of the space available to draw alongside the leader, then quickened nicely in the final furlong to win by three quarters of a length.

The David Simcock-trained three-year-old colt, by Kheleyf (USA) out of My Lucky Liz (AUS) and bred by Rabbah Bloodstock, clearly demonstrated good progress following his maiden win.
