Al Embess off the mark

09 February 2013

AL Embess got his head in front at the second time of asking when taking a mile maiden at Lingfield this afternoon. The son of Kyllachy stepped up on his debut last autumn to win convincingly under Jamie Spencer. Spencer was drawn in stall one and he was able to adopt the perfect position on the rail, just behind the leader. He was still travelling strongly on turning for home and when the gaps came he showed a good turn of foot to shoot clear. Huffoof and Awattan were finishing fast but Al Embess had enough in hand to win by a length and a quarter.
