GREAT Ormond deservedly got his head in front for the first time yesterday (Jan 17) at Wolverhampton as the Trillium Place team maintained their red-hot start to 2013. The Zamindar gelding had finished second in two of his three previous starts and was due a change a change in fortune. Trainer David Simcock opted to raise him in trip - from an extended nine furlongs to a mile and a half - for his latest assignment and the tactic paid off handsomely as jockey Andrea Atzeni secured a two-length success. Atzeni held him up from the gates before stealthily making progress around the bend into the home straight. The 2/1 shot led approaching the final furlong and stayed on strongly to score. The win followed an across-the-card double some 24 hours earlier with Whispering Warrior and Gabrial The Boss both justifying favouritism at Kempton and Lingfield, respectively. It was Gabrial The Boss's second win in 48 hours as he and English Summer were both on target on Wolverhampton on Monday. No fewer than 12 of Simcock's runners in 2013 have finished in the first three
