MOUNTAIN ROAD got off the mark this evening in fine style, taking the two mile Handicap at Chelmsford City in course record time, under Callum Shepherd.
The three-year-old gelding was held up in midfield until making headway over two furlongs out, was ridden to challenge over one furlong out and stayed on to lead towards the finish, winning by a neck.By Churchill IRE out of La Corniche FR, Mountain Road was making his sixth racecourse appearance and is trained by David Simcock for The Future.
